It’s an evening of Jazz inspired classics including Stravinsky’s bluesy Ebony Concerto, and Darius Milhaud’s Creation of the World. Plus, former CMF principal clarinetist (current LA Philharmonic principal clarinet) Boris Allakhverdyan stars in Copland’s lyrical and jazz-influenced Clarinet Concerto and Bernstein’s funky, jazzy Prelude, Fugue and Riffs.
